Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn. - John Wesley Teach a man to make fire and he will be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life. - John A. Hrastar The greatest tragedy in the world is when the fire goes out in someone’s eyes - when they give up, when they settle. Never let that happen to you. - Denise Ryan |

Explore the vibrant hues of the mountains, the variety of southwestern plants and the uniqueness of Indian artifacts. The AAA Four-Diamond Westin Mission Hills Resort, with its dramatic Spanish-Moorish architecture, boasts all the luxurious comforts of today while still retaining the magical spirit of those who first walked this land. Treat yourself to extraordinary golf, glamour and good times. Becoming an Effective Leader Speaker: Denise Ryan, FireStar Being the boss doesn’t guarantee you’re a good leader. To get better results from your people, you MUST develop good leadership skills. This session will cover over a dozen common leadership mistakes and explain how to avoid them. You’ll learn what really motivates your people and how to provide it. You’ll even receive good ideas on how to create a workplace in which excellence and enthusiasm are encouraged. This session can help you increase productivity, reduce turnover and raise morale. About our speaker: Denise Ryan is a proven motivator who comes highly recommended from several of our members who have experienced her sessions. She has spoken for Fortune 500 companies as well as small businesses, re-energizing thousands of people, waking them up to their full potential and helping them get everything they can out of their lives and their work. Spouse Activity “Papermaking Extravaganza” The art of papermaking has a long and interesting history, beginning with its invention in 105 A.D. by Ts’ai Lun, a Chinese court official. One of the most important inventions in the last two millennia, paper became a vital tool to allow people to easily put their thoughts down in written form. Written communication has been the center of civilization for centuries. Now you can connect with this age-old process when you learn how to make handmade paper from pulp, dried leaves and flowers. Once you understand basic papermaking, you can make many beautiful papers which you can use for stationery, scrapbooking, card making or keepsakes. With some skill and creativity, sheets of paper can become works of art using dyes and fibers. While your creation is drying, you’ll enjoy a tantalizing lunch and group camaraderie. |
|
| 5:00PM - 10:30PM | Optional Group Activity
“Fabulous Follies” The historic Plaza Theatre opened in December 1936 and was considered the finest small film house in the country. It is full of vaudeville-period glitz and glamour and equipped with very talented cast members between 50 and 87 years of age. You will hear the timeless music of the 30s and 40s presented in the Ziegfield style. A chartered bus will take you to downtown Palm Springs, where you can choose from numerous restaurants to have dinner on your own. The show begins at 7:00 pm and ends at 10:00 pm, when the bus will return you to the Westin resort. |
