Volunteer Spotlight - John Dickison

Volunteer News,

John Dickison, Bobst North America, Inc.

How long have you been in the industry?

I've been in the industry for 45 years.

Why did you get involved with IADD?

In early years , beginning of the IADD I knew some of my co workers were involved in the IADD, over time I became more involved , attended some meetings and participated in trade shows, met customers and learned I could help them make a difference in the way they looked at tools and used them.

What role do you currently serve in?

I serve on the Technical Services Committee and have also contributed as a technical writer for The Cutting Edge magazine.

What motivates you to give back to the industry?

Seeing results at customers, seeing diemakers make change for the positive that effects machine performance. Happy customers = Happy work life.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to spend time hunting or fishing as much as I can, being outdoors no matter what the weather may be like , Spending time with grandkids and working about , flipped many a house, but I think I’m done with that.  Made many friends in this industry over 40+ years within Bobst and even with customers.  Many of us have like interest and hobbies you bond over. Free time is hard to find , Lots to do with Bobst and quite busy, Weekends I tend to disappear during hunting season, I’ve been known to take a few calls from the tree stand and working within many different times zones keeps you busy.
